A power bank is a portable battery that stores electrical energy to recharge electronic devices on the go.
A power bank is essentially a self-contained, portable energy reservoir designed to provide backup power for devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, cameras, and other USB-powered electronics when a wall outlet is unavailable. It typically consists of rechargeable lithium-ion (Li-ion) or lithium-polymer (Li-Po) cells, a printed circuit board (PCB) for power management, and one or more output ports such as USB-A, USB-C, or wireless charging pads.

How It Works
Energy Intake (Charging the Bank): The power bank is charged via a wall adapter or USB port. The incoming electricity is regulated by the internal circuitry to safely store energy in the battery cells.
Energy Storage: The lithium cells convert electrical energy into chemical energy, which is held until needed. Safety features like overcharge protection, short-circuit prevention, and temperature monitoring ensure the battery remains stable.
Energy Output (Charging Devices): When a device is connected, the stored chemical energy is converted back into electrical current. The PCB and smart IC chips communicate with the device to deliver the correct voltage and current, preventing overload or damage.
During this process, some energy is lost as heat, so the actual usable capacity is slightly lower than the rated capacity.
Key Features
Capacity: Measured in milliamp-hours (mAh) or watt-hours (Wh). Higher capacity allows charging larger devices or multiple devices multiple times.
Ports and Compatibility: Modern power banks may include multiple USB ports, AC plugs, or wireless charging capabilities to support various devices.
Fast Charging: Many models support fast-charging protocols like USB Power Delivery (PD), Qualcomm Quick Charge, or proprietary technologies.
Portability and Design: Power banks range from slim, pocket-sized units to larger, high-capacity models. Li-Po cells allow for lightweight, flexible designs, while Li-ion cells are more energy-dense and cost-effective.
Safety Features: Overcharge, over-discharge, short-circuit protection, and temperature monitoring are standard to prevent damage and extend battery life
